Default is it bad to drive a couple months with a bad 3rd gear

i noticed the problem when i bought the car a month ago and im in college now and was planning on getting the tranny rebuilt in the beginning of december on christmas break. it ocassionally pops out of third gear, but i don't really use it anymore, i just go from 2nd to 4th and im not driving it hard at all. Will this ruin my tranny even more or should i be fine for another month and a half. Also, i don't do much driving during school (about 50-75 miles a week tops). thanks
Kevin

If you do what you have stated, you will be ok. the actual jump out can damage the clutch teethof the 3rd driven gear but skipping will be ok. I would be most careful of 4th too. Do not shift hard into 4th. It is possible to get stuck in 4th ( your 3/4 fork is damaged and needs replacing)
