Default Does anyone have a 900hp clutch?

I have a twin turbo LS6 in a sandrail. I have a 4speed tranny but I need a clutch that will hold 900 hp. Does anyone have any experience or recomendations? It must fit the stock input shaft. Thanks.

I'm running a Mendeola S4 with a Chevy bellhousing. It's a brand new combination so I don't have anyone that has used this application. I'm running approx 900 flywheel horsepower but I need drivablity.

See if tilton makes one of their multi disk clutches for that trans. They are outrageously expensive, but if that's what you need ...

The clutch really only see's torque, not hp. Thus torque should really be the basis for your search. Also, define "driveability" for you. Most standard type clutches I know of that can hold that kind of power, do not take kindly to slipping. They like quick crisp engagement, and will more than likely chatter.

I can get a really good deal on a LUK gold clutch kit. Does anyone know torque specs for this clutch? As for drivability, I need my wife to be able to drive this car around camp and have enough slip to trailer the car easily.

I am leaning toward a spec stage 3+. They're one of the few companies that actually post torque specs. Any users of this clutch? Has anyone tried the lightened flywheel and lightened pressure plate?

I'm not sure what other companies you've looked at, but Tilton, Quarter Master, and Exedy all appear to list torque capacities on their web sites as well.

Carbon and Carbon Tilton clutch expensive but holds insane ammounts of power and has better driveability than an metalic clutch I think the lowest rating on their clutches is 800 to 900 ft lbs all the way up to 1400 well worth the extra money when you take in into concideration in how crappy a mechanical failure would be out in the middle of the dunes somewhere

Is the FWHP or RWHP? Textralia tests their clutches at 700 rwhp so that would be close to 900 fwhp i suppose. I would contact them and see if their clutch would be good for your application. I think there were some other tests at 1000 rwhp but i can't give you any solid evidence on that.

I can call Spec for you and see what they would recommend. I know the stage 5 in rated to hold atleast 1000lbs of torque. I am nowhere near pushing its limits right now. This clutch really grabs but you learn how to get it to slip in a couple of days time.

The spec stage 5 is a sintered iron clutch disk. If you slip it it will wear out in no time.

You want to drive a 900hp sandrail on the street?

Dont go with a clutch that just makes the buy the hair on a babies ***. Get something that will handle 1100 or more TQ. I like my twin disc but that is me.
