Default what type of synthetic fluid to use in M6

I want to change the fluid in my tranny and I want to use a synthetic fluid. What type do most of you recommend?

I've had Mobil1 synthetic ATF in my MN6 T-56 for 5 years now - seems to be working great!

My 2002 has been running Mobile 1 since 18,000 miles (it has almost 70k on it now). It works great for me.

When I first put Mobil 1 in my T-56 oh, around February of 2000, everyone said the same things: it'll shift hard! The gears will grind! Your synchros will disintegrate! You'll become flaccid...!

With 60k on my tranny and having been using Mobil 1 exclusively for the last six years and 55k miles, any ill effects have thus far failed to materialize. Shifts are smooth, the tranny's quiet, and well... I mean, what else can you expect out of a tranny, eh?

young- You may want to take a read through both of the threads below in their entirety...basically you'll have to form your own conclusions on this subject:

Ending the speculation: Blocker rings, who's had them fail?

Which T56 fluid?

I recommend mobil 1 to all my customers. This is what I run in my cam only beast. There is no issues from what I have seen in the many I have rebuilt. Mobil 1 is recommended by me.

Likewise, I've used Mobil1 synthetic in my '00 M6 for the past 35K miles and there have been NO transmission issues whatsoever.

Now, the rear, that's a different story.

I will for sure read into the other forums about the fluid type. I was really thinking of using the Mobil 1 since I believe that they make the best motor oils. Thanks for all the input.

Royal purple synchromax here. Shifts are much smoother than the ATF in it from the factory.
