Default 2002 LS6 Clutch Kit vs 2002 LS1 clutch Kit

I need some help with this

According to GM OEM numbers for my 2002 WS6 the following part numbers are required for Clutch kit

12572731 - Flywheel
12570280 - clutch
15705563 - bearing
15046288 - Cylinder

I am told that I should use the LS6 assembly because the Flywheel and clutch come together and are cheaper. These are the part numbers.

12570806 - Flywheel and clutch
14061685 - Bearing
15046288 - Cylinder (same as above)

There is a major difference in cost with the LS6 being much more cheaper. Does this sound right? Why so much cheaper for the LS6.

Is this actually all I need to order

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I believe all 02 F bodies came with the LS6 clutch from the factory.

The only part number above that matches both is the slave cylinder. The other part numbers are different.

From what you have listed, that's because you can purchase the parts seperately or as a "kit". It looks like the "kit" has a part number all to itself. I'm almost certain all 02 F bodies came with the LS6 clutch.

I am thinking you are right with repect to the Flywheel and clutch being one number. The bearing number is different while the cylinder number is the same. Hoping some more people can confirm that if I order it it will fit right in with no problems.
