Default slipping clutch

I installed a new slave cylinder about 5 months ago. It went out again last month. I called ram clutches and found out i had the wrong slave cylinder. The one I had was for a vette which had a steel braided line for the quick disconnect instead of the hard line. Replaced it with a new slave and now the clutch slips. Could there be fluid on the clutch or could it be the shim.
