help with lt1 clutch install

Default help with lt1 clutch install

hey guys i am putting in my clutch and i can not get my trans to slip away from the bellhousing. it seems like there is a "clutch fork" holding on. i am not sure if i take that out or leave it on and and pull the trans out like that. please help me out

you will prob need to pull the clutch fork out some in order to slide the trans out. I found that out the hard way too.....you have to pull it away from the bellhousing. Hope that helps.

it's the clutch fork, I just take them all the way out, then the tranny just falls right out. I found out the hard way too!

I found out the hard way too. You have to take the 2 nuts holding the slave cyl. on (circled in yellow in the picture), then move the slave and the piece between the slave and the tranny out of the way, then you slide the shift fork off of the throwout bearing, and the tranny should slide back. When you do slide the tranny back the shift fork will stay attached to the the transmission.
