Default Short stick on stock shifter?

I have a shorter stick than stock but a stock shifter assembly. Would JUST putting the shorter stick on even help at all? Or would i have to get the short shifter assembly as well?

Arent the stock hurst shifters already SHORT shifters?

I just have a basic stock shifter not the hurst, so would putting the short stick on the non hurst be different?

stock hurst are NOT short shifters. I have the hurst w/ lss and it's great. I've never missed a shift.

the hurst base is good to have overall a standard shifter i would say, but the shifter handles are the same on all t-56 fbodies, so thats why i replaced it, i didnt feel the soft feel.

It's worth it to get a short stick. I have the WS6store SS, and it is awesome. At first, I was worried about it being so short. I didn't think I would like something nearly sunk in the shifter boot. But after I installed it and took a 15 minute drive, I was hooked. I can't believe what a pile of the factory stick was compared to the short stick. 2-3 shift is unbelievable. While it does feel a little "notchy", I love it like that. Shifting hard and fast to 2-3 and 4-5 is great. Only thing with the stick I got, it seems that in 1st gear, it looks like it is in 3rd gear, but I didn't get LSS with an angle or anything. But that is just cosmetic of course. I recommend doing it.

UMI short stick/factory Hurst combo here as well and LOVING it! Night and day difference over the stock stick. Whenever I drive a car with the stocker now it's like having a rubber broom handle for a shifter.

LSS is angled towards the driver whereas the WS6store stick is not. It's a matter of preference...whether you want it angled towards you or not. I personally have the WS6store stick, I have tried the LSS and I dont like the feel or look of the angle. Plus the WS6store stick is half the price of the LSS.

6" or 6.5" from WS6Store? They offer both. UMI doesn't say how long their's is on their website. Just trying to judge which one to get. Thanks.

I started reading this thread last night and by the time I was finished I had a another tab open and was ordering the short stick from the WS6 Store. It will be going on a factory Hurst.
