Question Need a quality clutch-SLP?

I recently had to cancel my Textralia clutch order cuz it was taking too long to get. Almost a month. Does anyone use the SLP clutch or what would you recommend? I hear the Spec clutches have problems with the springs and only last about 4,000 miles. Is this true?
Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Based on many guys posts on here, I would stay away from SLP myself. I have not personally tried their clutch, so take it with a grain of salt. You migh look at Ram or SPEC, maybe the LS7 setup depending on your goals.

I just ordered a new ls7 clutch/ls2 flywheel/new slave cylinder/piolt bearings all for about $600 shipped. Should be pushing 400+ rwhp after cam install and have only heard good things about the LS7.

Since you're near stock, I would say go for an LS6 clutch (or better yet an LS7, they should hold more power than the LS6).

I have heard alot of bad things about spec, im ordering a mcleod twin disc clutch with aluminum flywheel . I have heard great things about mcleod, in regards to slp, i havent heard hardly anything about it, which usually means that itsnothin special.

im all about the centerforce dual friction 12" clutch. I put one in my car and now have about 2500 miles on it and 5 passes down the track. I go through a lot of stop and go traffic every day. This clutch still feels just like stock to me and handled the 2800 rpm launches at the track no problem! If you have any questions about the centerforce shoot me a pm and i'll help you out all i can!

Ill def keep everyone updated on the LS7 as I know its still new, but from the looks of it it looks like one sweet setup. Should def hold the power that the 232/238 cam Im having installed at the same time will be making no problem.

The SLP clutch is fine

Luk LS6 is a better value and the progold is an outstanding setup

LS7 (made by Luk I believe) with and LS2 flywheel is even better! - probably the best setup available right now if you're looking for good driveability and excellent holding power.

I can't wait to really test a LS7 setup. The stock LS6's last me about 2k miles at most when I track the stock cars.Or 4 passes in my 3k mile Vette
Mcleod-litterally blew up 2 of them-organic blew apart,1- 1k miles,2-2500miles- no warrenty
RPS- 800 miles-no track time
RAM -1200 miles -welded disk to flywheel on the street -good warrenty
SPEC 3I -13k miles and 45 passes mostly high 10's low 11's -wore out

So clutches are like pissing in the wind

Thumbs up Ls7

Well you guys have helped me out a bunch!! I think I'll go with the LS7 setup cuz it sounds like it may be more durable for long term. I put 112,000 miles on my factory clutch and quiet a few hard launches. So i am looking for something along those lines. 98Z28MASS where did you order your Complete LS7 setup? Who has the best deal on the LS7 package? Thanks again everyone!!
BTW is the LS7 flywheel a lightweight billet steel version and does everything bolt right up or do we have to modify anything to make it work?
