500rwhp clutch choice?

500rwhp clutch choice?
Ok I think I narrowed it down to 2 clutches. The new centerforce and the spec 4. I have a 231/237 cam and nitrous. I am gonna put down about 500rwhp and occasional track outtings. Wich would you choose? I am kinda leaning towards the centerforce as the stories I have heard from spec lately kinda scare me away.

the only reason i dont like spec is b/c of the horror stories going around (clutches exploding). I have a centerforce dual friction 12" clutch in my car now. It has about 2000 miles on it and i daily drive it every day (stop and go traffic) and just this last weekend i abused it at the track and had no complaints whatsoever! Oh yah and if customer service means anything at all to you i would go with a centerforce! There customer service is unbelievable!! Trust me you will be happy!
BTW: all the bad things i have heard about centerforce had to do with the old design! A lot of people dont know that centerforce has upgraded. They now offer a 12" instead of 11" disk. If you want more info and dont want to take my word for it pm Will Baty of centerforce or send me a pm and i will let you know how to get ahold of him!

You hear alot about Specs because they are the #1 clutch sold to F-body owner's which means you'll hear the highest fail rate. I don't see why people have problems with there service? I have nothing but good things to say.Right now we have a prototype of there's that when we have it worked out it will definitely be one of the best/strongest clutches out there
Now,I haven't seen the new Centerforce,I do know the old one was one of the biggest pieces of crap.
If you want ultimate then get a Tilton dual disk.Very $$ but extremely strong and drivable.

I hear ya but yoru 2000 miles and noone else using the clutch isn't a testimonial that things have improved as some poeple have been lucky in the past also. Not saying your not a good judge but I am quite hard on clutches and your 100rwhp and 200+ tourque less then where I plan to be on sticky tires.

I'm a RAM fanboy myself. VDS/910 for me.
I had a Cartek. It was a decent clutch, but not SFI approved. I sold it (and it's still going in a buddy's car). The RAM I have is a little stiffer and a little grabbier than the Cartek.
Whatever clutch you get, put some serious thought in to ditching the GM flywheel and getting an aftermarket one, SFI rated (like the RAM ). I have a feeling that on the cars that have had clutches explode, it's the GM flywheel causing the problem. I've seen it with Cartek and Spec's on here. When you're on nitrous, on slicks, the clutch can spin - spin causes heat - heat blows up clutches. Safety first.

I am leary of the LS7 clutch, just look at the LS6 clutch it was sppose to hold a 400 hp Zo6.
I have used spec stage 3 and cartek with great results,30k plus miles on each 100 or more passes, autoxing and daily driven.
