Default reverse problem

Today I put a new exhaust, wheels and a skip shift eliminator I bought a few weeks ago on my 2001 camaro and had to fight my tranny to get it into reverse. it's never been a problem in the past and I don't see how the skip shift elim could change anything. It could be that the transmission is cold since it dropped from about 80 to 40 in a matter of minutes and the car was on stands for a couple hours.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Check your ENG SEN fuse - the skip shift and reverse lockout solenoids are on the same circuit. If the fuse is blown got a problem somewhere on that circuit.

I just took a run in my car and somehow I put the skip shift on wrong (??) It pulled a first to fourth twice. I'll look at it tomorrow and see what the problem is.

You put the eliminator in the wrong solenoid connection.
