If you want a great street mannered clutch that will hold big power go with the spec 3+....If you are looking for an all out drag race clutch that will not last as long go with the Ram HD/sintered iron disk, or spec stage 5...the last two will hold almost ANYTHING you can throw at them at the track.

I'll agree with 99Formula. I researched clutches for quite some time and after hearing the horror stories with SPEC's either failing under 1K miles or the freak exploding ones I steered clear.
I plan to make 600rwhp on nitrous and wanted a clutch to hold up to the abuse and not have to dick with it every 10K miles. As per TSP I run a RAM 910/VDS PP and Fidanza alum flywheel which has been the hot ticket for me. I have yet to use the nitrous; however have about 15 passes at the strip on stickies, 6 hrs worth of hard road racing, and 20K very very hard street miles.
I'm more than happy with it and would buy it again. The only downside is that it has a stiff pedal (which I'm totally used to) and in stop and go traffic your leg gets a workout is the only downside. I have 3:90's which eliminates most of the chatter from a stop. I get clutch chatter maybe once per 50 times taking away from a stop. You just have to slip the clutch a bit which eliminates all chatter. I have never smelled burning clutch ever and once you let out the clutch this sucker instantly grabs.
If you have only around 450rwhp I would install the LS7 clutch/GTO LS2 flywheel setup as it has near stock pedal feel and lots of grip. If you plan to punish the car and squirt nitrous get an appropriate clutch for the abuse.

Everyone has a different story I guess. I have had 2 Ram clutches go with less than 1000 miles and my buddy that lives here in town has had some problems with his first ram too. I have a Spec 5 in my car now and have no issues and I love driving it around and have about 100 track passes and 2000 miles on it already with 515 rwhp and I have been spraying it with zero issues.

I just made a clutch purchase, and it came down to the
spec 4 and the ram hd.
I chose the ram hd because I wanted a sprung disc that
would stay together, and I didn't think that the springless 4
would be quite what I wanted for a street/strip car.
My power levels should be in the ballpark of
mid 400hp NA to 600'ish HP on spray.

People ruin spec's by running them hard from the get go it seems. You have to properly break in any clutch. I have had a Spec 3 for about 2X,XXX miles and it doesnt even have a hint of slip. I might be lucky, but I am not really "easy" on my car either and it has seen plenty of highway/city/strip driving styles.
