Default Master/Slave

anyone know if the master and slave cylnders you can get from autozone as an OEM replacement for an '01 Z28 is the upgraded ones from the '98 model year ones?

No idea, but I wouldnt want to risk it in a performance application. Its only one way to find out how good it is, and its way to much work pulling the tranny twice.

Risk? LOL...At least the ones from a local auto parts store comes with a warranty, which is something the GM pieces do not have.

I went with the TruTorque master/slave from Advance Auto Parts for my upcoming SPEC 3 swap. $84 for the master and $74 for the slave. 1 year warranty on both parts, as well. I could not justify spending $245 on something without a warranty over $154 on something that did.

thats what im thinking. but i found a good one from Fred Beans. i dont know what to do. cause like you said they dont have a warrenty. i just want to know if the ones you can get from autozone or whatever is the upgraded ones that were put on in 01-01 from 98-00.

They are definitely the upgraded style. Just like when you go to order an "LS1 oil pump" you get the LS6 oil pump now. You can't buy 98 hydraulics anymore, everything is the 01-02 style.
