Default How to tell if the clutch is going?

Ive noticed a minor clunking noise on some take offs in 1st gear. If I ease into it, it wont make the noise, just on decent take offs (NOT launches). And it only happens in 1st gear.
What kinds of symptoms do clutches give when they are ready to go?

Its hard to really tell. Sometimes itll be a quick 1 clunk and others it will be 2 clunks. No movement in the shifter. I already have Polymounts in it as well.

BTW the sound doesnt seem to be coming from the shifter area, more towards the gas pedal.
