Default P0704 Anyone get this before?

Have been having clutch issues and decided to plug predator in to read any codes, even though the CEL wasn't on. Came up with P0704 Clutch switch circuit. Anyone experienced this before? What do I need to do, what should the symptoms be? If anyone has had this happen before, please help, I can further explain what my issues have been lately.
thanks

Good luck with that one. I've started 2 threads about this exact same code with no answers to what it could be.

replace the black switch above the clutch pedal. if you look under the dash at the top of your clutch pedal, you'll see it. should be like $16 or $17 from the dealership.

So this switch, what does it do? And what caused it to throw code, besides going out? I've been having a few other clutch related symptoms that I havn't figured out yet. Thanks.

It should be the switch that tell the ECU when the clutch is engaged/disengaged, so it knows the clutch is pushed in when you go to start the car.

I can't figure what other kind of switch would be for the clutch pedal

The other clutch issue is that when I have the clutch pedal released, I can hear a noise in bellhousing area that sounds like the clutch didn't completely release, kind of like a turning, rotational squeel. It also makes a sort of whine, when accelerating in all gears that must be associated. My question is, can this switch being out cause this kind of whine or squeel? Recently had clutch, pp, flywheel, to bearing and pilot bearing replaced. No slave or master, and the car is a 99, so doesn't have the upgrade parts.

u replaced the TO bearing, but not the slave? it sounds like its the slave.. then again, if it does it while accelerating, it could very well be that it isnt releasing..dont know that the switch would cause that. it just lets the computer know whether its in or out..

Yeah, it was foolish to do all that and not upgrade slave....., but I really didn't know a whole lot about the trans before I had the clutch replaced. The car still runs a drives, so the switch must be working I guess, I'll mention to my mechanic about the slave.
thanks
