Default Shift lights?

Just wanted to know what you guys though about shift lights.

They seem cool but a bit expensive for what they are.

Do any of you guys use them?
What brands/models are good?
Anyone make their own?
Worth the money?

I have a tach/shiftlight combo in my car. I believe its an AutoGage brand or something like that. I have it mounted at the bottom of my a-pillar kind of wedged betweed the pillar and dash. In my opinion it was well worth the money! It is a lot easier when you are at the strip or racing down the highway to see that bright *** light in your face than the stock tach. That and it is a lot safer than trying to look at the road ahead of you and trying to stick the rpms exactly where they need to be at the same time. If you do any kind of racing at all and want to get the rpms as high as possible to get the most power out of your motor without blowin it up then i say definately get one! I can show you some pics of my tach/shiftlight set up if you want. BTW.....i only paid $80 for mine on e-bay.

I LOVE my raptor shiftlite! They look badass, and they help you be alot more consistant instead of trying to guess where to shift with the slow reading tach. It's easy to hit the revlimiter on the 1-2 shift cause the car is revving so fast that the tach can't keep up. It's not "as" bad on the other shifts, but still not accurate. You can set this thing where ever you want to shift at...mine is at 6k for now, but will be bumped up when I get the new cam installed.

Check out the pics of my Raptor shiftlite in my WS6.

I use the proform shift light mounted in the a/c vent. It is like 40-50 bucks and has an adjustable setpoint on back instead of buying a bunck of rpm pills.

Another Harlan shift light user here. Very handy mod for an M6, almost necessary.

Raptor shift light here- you can adjust it to whatever RPM you want with the built-in switches. I've even adjusted the light in between runs at the track, really easy.

Harlan. 1st one was in the a/c vent. 2nd one came in the car on the steering column. Much easier than trying to watch the tach.

I would defintely get a light if I were you. MY tach was roughly 1500rpm's behind in first gear. You don't wanna rev your engine any higher than necessary.

Love my Harlan. Easy to set, bright, & very accurate. Not to mention $55 shipped is a great deal.
