Default Clutch problem

SO every time I start from a dead stop on a hill, by the time I reach the top the clutch smells like it is burning. It also when I push the car a little (I don't drop the clutch passed 1500 rpms). What do u guys think that the problem could be? Is it time for a new clutch, the ('98 m6) car just passed 46,000 miles?

Time for a new clutch. Try to keep it in as low a gear as reasonably possible when going up hills until you get it replaced.
