Default T56 Rebuild

So I'm driving down the road yesterday and the car pops out of gear. Put it back in and feel some grinding. Then, slowly over the next 30 miles or so, the transmission just keeps getting worse, sliding out of gear or not even going into gear. Now, it's sitting in my garage stuckin 5th gear. Time for a rebuild. So, I might as well upgrade. I called the local shops, and they told me that they would just charge me labor to pull the tranny and they would just send it off to someone else to fix. So, I'll just pull it and send it off myself. So, can anyone recomend a good rebuild kit to buy, and someone to send it to? Thanks.

Joe's got my tranny right as well. Hopefully it'll be back by Friday so I can get my car off my brother-in-law's lift this weekend.

I'm hoping Joe's work is as good as everyone says. I haven't heard a single bad thing about his work and only hear positives which was enough for me. I PM'd back and forth with Joe and Amber and felt really comfortable sending my tranny to him without any hesitation.

Looks like im going to be giving them a call myself. I cant shift it out of 4th gear unless I turn the car off and start it again. But im hoping it will have something to do with the tuning / computer? any thoughts?

Tuning has nothing to do with us manual guys. The only thing the computer controls in the tranny is the reverse lockout solenoid. The tranny needs rebuilt.

I would say deal with T56 rebuilds also. I wish i would of known before i had a local shop do mine, and $4100 later and on my 2nd clutch and im still pissed i paid that much, but im going to be ordering an LS7 clutch kit from them, and i talked to amber and she was VERY helpful and was great to talk to on the phone.

Gave the car a test run tonight and 4th is working fine now ? Guess i have a little more time before it blows/acts up again. And Country Boy I have thought the SAME exact thing in your sig many times. Its just so damn fun when its working.

Be careful. Things have a tendacy to act up at the wrong times (like in traffic)

My sig is as about as true as it gets

What package did you get? You had to send trans to them before they could rebuild, right? Not sure if they rebuild someone elses core and then you send yours to them.
