Default what tranny???

just bought my99.30th anniv.T/A and wondered how to tell what tranny,m6 with a hurst

Are you asking how to identify the correct trans/ shifter?

The only manual offered with the LS1 in'99 was an MN6. If it came with a Hurst shifter, it would have a BBS in the rpo codes on the driver door. If you locate the metal tag on the trans(under one of the case to extension housing bolts) you should see 1386-020( model number) along with the build date( a julian coded date) serial number and a GM part number.If the door does not have the BBS code your trans model would be a 1386-017.
