Transmission life if 1 gear grinds at WOT...
If I am going WOT, second gear will do a noticable grind. It doesn't happen all the time, but an early shift at 4000 up to 5500 will definitly grind, while a long shift 6krpm, or part throttle up to 4000 will not grind.
I changed 8 year old transmission fluid the other day (previous owner hadn't touched it, even the loctite on the drain bolts were factory stock).
Would switching to Mobil 1 help out a bit? Is there any major harm if I do WOT shifts only occasionaly? (I may sneak in some track runs this year).
Do I have to bite the bullet and get a rebuild done?

Transmission fluid and brand = nightmare to sort through...
In other words, I already did searches on fluids. I may try going to a synthetic and see how my luck is with them because as its stands I want to minimize the damage being done to my second gear, if synthetic will give me that slightly quicker synching of the gears, I'll take it.
