Default Noise?!?!?!?!

ok i just redid my rear everything new with 4.10 gears from strange. while i was doing that i installed a new clutch spec stage 2 and put new u joints in. i also sent my transmission to get checked and the they said it was like new. now before i brought it there i heard a almost grinding noise when in nuetral. but the tranny shop said the tranny was fine. now when im in like 5th gear and i just rest my foot on the gas u hear a loud errr noise like err errr err err with a slight pause between each. i thought it was the rear but i took out the clutch pak out 3 times reshiming it and changed the crush collar again and still the same noise never changed a bit. and when i put my car on the lift and run it, the sound seems to come out of the middle of the drive shaft??? there are a few little dents on the side of the shaft but nothing serious and i removed the shaft and cant seem to find anything wrong with it... does anyone know what it could be??? its driving me freeking nuts thanx and sorry for the long post

I have 4.10's and have this same noise when in 4th or 5th at 40-50mph. I bought the car this way, thinking it was exhaust drone, since it would only do it when slightly on the throttle. Hasn't seem to have effected anything yet, though.

I hear the same noise, I just had a moser 12 bolt put in and I drove it for 1000 miles and it was quite. Then It made a loud noise from the back and my back right spring rubs on my panhard bar and I hear the same noise in N arund 50mph and in 5th when im hardly on the throttle.

I've since been told that this noise is normal with 4.10's installed at that speed. The noise is almost inaudable at 65mph+ in 6th.

I just had my 4.10 richmond gears installed in my 02 ws6 and i get that same damn noise you just described.....i wish there was something i could do to stop it but the mechanic that installed them said that all f-bodies make that noise when you put 4.10s in them.

I've had mine like this for a year now, everything is still the same. The rearend hasn't gotten any louder since. It's pretty normal from what I hear.
