Default skip shift

Ok i have a 01 Z28 m6 and want to know if you want to get rid of if do you have to buy that $35 peace. Or can you just unplug the damn thing. My friend has a 98 Z28 m6 said you can just unplug. If you can is their a bad side of doing that.

Resistor is less than a dollar. If you unplug it, it will set a light but it won't hurt anything. The resistor is less than a dollar and no light. Or have someone program it out.

Just to clarify the above post, not using a resistor will throw a code, resulting in an SES light. However, the "skip shift" light will still come on. With a tune, neither light comes on.

Na - go the cheap route. Have friends that have done the resistor thing - still working fine.
