Default How do you know if the hydraulics are upgraded already?

Well i bought a 99SS recently and i can beat on it pretty well and the clutch has never let me down yet. I can make a full 1/4 mile pass banging each gear and each one hts hard. Even with alotta shifting in traffic no issues. I read in GM high tech perf that if you look under the cap of the cluth master cyliner if it has a "0" on the bottom of the cap you have the crappy old hydraulics. Mine has a "98" in the center and a "4" just above that. The article said if you had a 1 or 2 you had the better hydraulics. Didnt see anything about 98 or 4? Anyone know any other stuff to look for?

Thats a casting clock. Mine says 04 in the middle, I just bought it a month ago.
The middle number is the year and the number on the outside of the circle is the month.

If you have a '99 car and the cap has 98 on it then it's the original cap. Even though the car is a '99 all or most of it's parts were made in '98 in order to get it out on the showroom floor in late '98.
