Default Can't get the clutch release line off tranny!!

Hope this is the right spot for this thread since it's trans related, but I'm prepping my '00 WS6 to remove the engine/trans and the book I've been referencing tells you to use a radiator hook tool to push in the white collar around the clutch release line (driver side of the tranny). Well try as I may, I simply cannot get that line off. I've pushed the litle white sleeve in pretty far but the line is still snug on there and I certainly don't want to pry too hard and break something. Any ideas with removal?

Get a flat blade screwdriver in each hand. Work those on opposite sides of the white band. Once you push the band far enough, the line pops off ever so easily.

Push the white band, AND the line in together. It will pop out.

yeah getting that line off is a major PAIN IN THE *** i was probably under my car swearing about it for about 20 minutes before i could get it off.....i had a conglomeration of small screwdrivers and small needle nose pliars to get mine off....once you get it in far enough though, it pops right off! just keep trying, you'll get it

I had difficulty with this myself. Like said you have to use a flathead screwdriver and oush the white band in to spread the quick release and make sure it is under the lip. It has to be push farther than you think. It will come.
