Default How far should pedal travel to disengage?

I'm curious how far the clutch pedal needs to be depressed in order to disengage the clutch. In my Formula, it disengages about 5 inches down from fully released, nowhere near the floor. It's not slipping in any way when I shift, however, so I am wondering if this is normal, or if I need to make some sort of adjustment. Thanks!

Sounds right about where mine is. Has been like that since the first day I got it. My friend has a 98 Z and it engages as soon as it stops touching the floor. Very different release points, so I guess every car can be different

Not sure about how many inches, but if im not mistaken, it should engage/disengage around the center of pedal travel.
