Default smoother shifts question

I was just wondering if there is any way to make a shifter shift smoother. I installed my short shift a few days ago and its pretty stiff. Any feedback will be appreciated.
Thanks

The F-body T-56 is notchy to begin with. Some say fresh fluid will help the problem.

i dont think there really is anything that can help, it has nothing to do w tranny fluid. it just has to do with the type of shifter that you have. t56's trannies are klunky, even without a shifter. when you put on a shifter your just asking for some more klunk
