Default mcleod and shim?

i had a ram hd and that thing went south now i have a mcleod twin disk and i was wondering if i still need that shim. the one behind the slave cylinder? thanks.

also i just tried to push the clutch in and nothing happend? could this be the shim or is something not lined up right?

i would like to know this also . My Ram lasted 1400 miles. started showing signs of slipping at 600 miles.

POST how you like the MCleod, and i do think you still need the shim , what does Mcleod say?

the mechanic that put my spec stage 1 in didnt use the shim and it went south on me.

i used the shim on my spec stage 3 when i put it in myself and my friends car

No, you shouldn't need a shim on your twin disk. Like you, I had a RAM Powergrip HD without the shim and it was toasted real quick... but the McLeod has lasted through one full season of drag racing, and is going on its second. Every bit as strong as it was when it was new.

alright thanks man! so you do you think that shim could be the reason the clutch wont go down at all? the trans is fully bolted to the motor? the line to the slave cylinder isnt hooked up but i dont think thats the problem.
