Default What the hell happend

So my friend blew out his 3rd gear in his 01 WS6 and brought it back to the dealer to get it fixed under warrenty. He got the car back and the shifter does not sit right at all. It has a B&M in it and it feels like it is upside down. In first and third it hits the dash and in second and third it practiclly sits like it is in the same spot as neutral would be but maybe a inch below. I took the boot out really quick and it looks to be installed the right way, but I dont think it can be installed upside down anyways. It has to be something in the tranny. Anyone have anykind of problem like this?

Why dont you pop the console off and take a look at it. I dont know if they can be mounted upside down, I dont think the bolts will line up. I could be wrong, I dont remember 100%, but its not hard popping the console off and taking the shifter out. See if its on there right, it might be a quick easy fix.

The stick may be installed on the right hand side of the actual shifter, when it needs to be installed on the left side. If that is the problem, it is a very easy fix.

Yes the actuall shifter base can only be installed one way. The bolts do not line up but I think the rod might be backwords
