I got the ws6store clip-on resistor. It's great being able to grab for a gear and get it. I didn't like being forced to stay in first so long, or go straight to fourth which always lugged the engine and caused a ton of rattle in the clutch springs.

Absolutely the best non-go fast mod I've done.

I think there are only a handful of people who haven't done it. Almost everyone has gotten rid of cags.

So far its only been a few of the (apparently) uninitiated GTO boys that I've seen even try and make an argument for not doing it. IMO its one of the few no-brainer mods out there for any late-model GM performance car. Hell, if for some crazy reason you're not completely sure you want to do it then just spend a buck on the 4-pack of resistors at Radio Shack and try it out first before spending a whopping $20 on a nice plug.

I remove the CAGS as soon as possible on my car. It feels better to shift to whatever gear you want. I say its a must if you want to enjoy your sports car.

Heres a link to the write up:

http://www.installuniversity.com/ins...adio_shack.htm

Did this yesterday and it works just fine, its nice not being forced into 4th anymore. And its alot cheaper than all the other ones, and it does the same job. But as the write up mentions, it doesnt look professional. It still does the trick though.
