Default Slave cylinder/throw-out bearing?

Over the years I keep eating up the slave cyl.'s. Everytime I have to remove my tranny for whatever reason the bolts somehow back there way out. And then the slave get's messed up. I have a spec clutch that I use there shim. I also have a Mcloed adj. master cyl. I've bought longer bolts w/ lock washers and locktite to use to hold the slave in place but somehow it ends up coming loose. Any suggestions on what to do? Can I get rid of the shim since I have a adj. master ? What about drilling and tapping for bigger bolts? Thanks in advance. Ken

No, I haven't heard this one before. Try cleaning the bolts and holes really well with a strong solvent before installation. That will enable the locktite to bond well.

My opinion is that the stock slave mounting bolts are too short when used with a shim. I found longer M6 flange bolts at my local Ace hardware store.
