question about tranny storage. ok so i have had a new t56 since last thanksgiving. and im about to install it. i pull the plug to check for fluid and there is none. should i be concerned? its a sealed tranny i didnt see any rust from what i could see. i might need to open the inspection cover. but should i have any problem?

If its a new service unit it does not come full of oil. With the shipping plugs in place, there is enough residual oil( all T56s are filled and tested before shipping) in the box to protect it.
