Spec Stage 3 Praise?
You hear enough bad about this clutch, but who is running it and likes it? What do you do with the car (street drive, drag race, autox/road race, etc), how much power are you making, how has the clutch held up, and what are your pros and cons on it?

I am using it and like it.
I mostly drag race and have put about 10k street miles on it without so much as a hiccup. I finally got a 12 bolt and took it to the track hitting low 1.8 to high 1.7 60's, no problems to speak of.
Because of the high altitude I'm probably making about 280-300rwhp in a full bolt on car.
I don't feel there are cons so far. The clutch does chatter depending on how I launch but that was something I was fully expecting from a stonger, stickier clutch.
I think my next clutch will be a Stg 5, currently a Stg 3.
FWIW I followed Specs install instructions to the T.

I haven't ran it long enough to really give a good review as I have maybe 2K miles on the engine and clutch, but I'm putting out 500/500+ and on street tires it is holding up good, much more streetable that the McLoed I had, does not chatter, no cons at all. Pedal pressure is perfect. Will be running ET Streets soon, so I guess we'll see how long it lasts. If I was building the car for the strip I would have went with a stage 5.

I have about 30k on mine. I put it in when the stock one went out on drag radials. This clutch has never seen a sticky tire or a track and won't see one until i can afford to fix the things that will break. The only con is that even now it still chatters and squeaks when you start to move from a dead stop.

I am thinking of purchasing this clutch for my car. Just the Stage 3, not the 3+. It is between this and a Centerforce Dual Friction. With only long-tubes, true duals, and a lid on the car with the planned cam along with the rest of the bolt-ons...I think the two of these are a good choice. So praise on about the 3! (Or CF DF... )

Have had both a 3 and now a 3 + and 3+ is the best street clutch I have used, it replaced a mcloud twin that had 15,000 miles on it (actually almost new still, just did not like feel).
Have had clutch in car about 2000 miles with one track day I was nervous on first launch but all went well car did a best of 10.72@ 133 1.68 with a head wind also did a 10.70 @ 132 with a 1.58 hitting rev limiter.
Have read a lot of negative about spec, glad I tried a 3+ for myself.

Not to hijack, but I have a stage 3 brand new in the box if your interested. I'm going a little more aggresive than I had originally planed so i'm getting a stage 5. I already have a return number to send it back to spec, but if I can sell it, I wouldn't have to wait for all the red tape. PM me if interested. Oh yeah for the topic, a buddy has a stage 3 in his TT gto and it held up to about 560 lb wheel torque, but is now slipping at 650 lb.

I just put my spec 3 clutch in and it seems likes the trannys getting hot. I can feel my center console and the E brake handle getting hotter than usual. Is this normal or something I should be concerned about? any input would be appreciated.

I've had my spec stage 3 in for about 3 years now no problems, mostly street driven, taken to the track a few times. I'm making 500rwhp and 555.5 rwtq.

I've run a Stage III for about 3 years and 30+K miles. Not a problem out of it. It still chatters some time but you have to expect that from a performance clutch. It is just now starting to slip just a little under torque so I may try the Stage III+ next. I hope it does as well as the 3 has. I'm a satisifed customer thusfar.

Been running it since late January. Clutch was already being used in previous car that I swapped with. I know he put some track time on it with a lot of hard driving during the 10k he had it in the car. Since the swap I've given it hell and it hasn't missed a beat. Still haven't put a sticky tire on the car yet due to having a 10 bolt.
I've put about 12k on it since January and it's still grabbing strong. It has some chatter to it but that might be b/c it was used. When this one goes out I will be putting another SPEC in...it hasn't given me a reason not too.

My Spec grips great and the everyday driveability is great. Only gripe is, I've only got about 6k miles on it and its starting to slip. Nothing bad yet, but its still annoying.
If they could get that part straight, I would buy from them again, just for the fact that its a good clutch for a daily driver and its grips great.
