Default Which shifter and why? Shifter or tranny internal stops?

So, I just picked up a sweeeeeet '02 WS6 and want to buy myself a shifter.

I drove a few of my buddies cars today
I tried out the Pro 5.0, B&M Ripper, Hurst Billet Plus and the stock optional Hurst with a LSS.

Honestly I really couldn't tell much of a difference at all

I'm not a huge fan of the very short handles such as most of the aftermarket pieces. I think I'd be perfect with just ever so slightly cutting down whichever handle came with whichever shifter I bought.

Which shifter are you running and why?
Should I use the stops on the shifter I choose, or leave the stops out and use the internal tranny stops?
I've heard so many arguments either way, and really don't know what's best.

I'd also like the shifter to be quiet and not so brutle/harsh as some could be. I've heard the Pro 5.0 is loud, but that putting down a bead of gasket between the shifter and plate cures that???

Which shift light do you prefer?
I was looking at the raptor light because I'd really like to mount it in the small defrost vent.

If you drove all of them and couldn't tell a difference why not just get the cheapest one? I voted for the hurst billet plus because it is a big improvement over the stock hust and I had a 5.0 and didn't like it. I don't know about the b&M.

What did you not like about the Pro 5.0?

I can't totally say I didn't feel a difference, I really only drove each car around a parking lot and slow streets...so it wasn't a real test of each

I have the pro 5.0 with the handle cut down about an inch. Perfect shifts IMO.

Stock hurst with a LSS

I don't race that much. Mostly street driving, so I don't need a racing shifter, just something better than stock. The Stock hurst with the LSS gave me short, precise throws without the noise and notchiness of the aftermarket shifters. It's great around town, and when the lights go green. Best of both worlds IMO.

I had a B&M Ripper in my car and I didnt like it. I kept missing third, which could've been my fault, but I'm gonna blame the shifter.

I replaced it with a Pro 5.0 with a WS6Store short stick and I love it. I hit third now with no problem and its not all that loud. Maybe it just doesnt bother me.

I dont know about the Hurst Billet, but I heard good things about it.

I dont think you can go wrong with the Pro 5.0 though.

I had the Pro 5.0 and sold it for some fast cash. Had the stocker Hurst. (crap). Broke that, and then got the Hurst Billet plus and have not turned back since.

Hurst Billet w/LSS Here.
Much better than the stock shifter
I went with Hurst because they've been making shifter's longer than anyone else.

I have a pro 5.0 and lss I know you said you don't like the short stick but I love it. If you want i'll let you drive my car next time I see you (you'll probably have brought your new shifter by that time). I love this combo though I bang gears like an animal and I don't have to worry about where im going its like the shifter does all the work for you, you just have to apply the force and its where you want it to go. I am an agressive shifter and this combo deff let me shine at the track. I used to have a stock no short throw hurst with a lss and this is 100x better than that combo.

Completely agree here...I have the Pro 5.0 with the UMI short stick (basically pro 5.0 handle with 1" cut off it) and I love it.

and yet another another one for 5.0. It's a 100% improvement over stock and I cut 1 inch off the stick and it's perfect. but you like the longer sticks (no pun intended) so I would just leave the stick that comes with the pro 5.0 shifter.

I've had stock hurst with aftermarket short stick and now I have the pro 5.0 with a shorter stick. Pro 5.0 > stock hurst, by far.

Harlen light is small as well and mounted in a vent for me.

I have opt Hurst with LSS.

If you liked it just as much it's cheapest so do that
