Default Spec Stage 2 Problems....NO SPEC Haters Please!

I recently replaced the stocker clutch with a Spec 2 and Spec Flywheel on my girl's 2000 Camaro SS. I installed the GM updated master and slave as well. The break in was really tough and chattery. Of course right around 450 miles it when away.

Was fine for a few months, but is now actually slipping and getting worse and worse as the weeks go on. I've been asked several times if I bled the clutch and installed the shim which I did. I bled it several times. The only coinsidence that doesn't make sense is that the car will not go into cruise control mode. I heard this could be from the safety switch that is located by the master. Any suggestions? Could it be a defective clutch?

Cliff notes: Spec 2 with Spec fly...Real chattery break in...now slipping. Installed new GM master/slave, bled, no cruise control.

Thanks to anyone with suggestions!

Well your prolly pulling the trans again, sounds like a clutch.
If the pedal has freeplay at the top & it still slips, it's done.

It was suggested I might invest in an adjustable master?

What do you mean by done man? It's brand new. How'd it get toasted?

And thanks for the reply....

::edit:: failed to mention this new clutch has around 1500 miles now.

Ya an adjustable master is a good upgrade to invest in. But your problem likely will be the clutch itself unfourtunely.
Seems to happened to others b-4 a new clutch & slips , sucks to hear it.
I dunno if it is disc or pressure plate problems but ususally the whole thing has to go back for rebuild.

I thought I was a moron or something. I've done it 3 times before and never had a problem with my car with SPEC stage 3. Now I put in a stage 2 and POOF!

SPEC makes some weird **** man. I had a friend put in a stage 4 and no chatter. Different friend put in a stage 4 and it chattered BAD so they went back to a stage 3.

I really don't mind yankin the tranny again. I'd rather do that than rip out the stock exhaust. HOLY **** WHAT A PITA.

So with a new clutch....resurface the flywheel? I know you're not suppossed to with the LS1 but this flywheel has 1500 miles

What do ya do?

Well as far as your cruise control not working.

If you have Cruise Control on your M6 you may or may not be aware that the clutch ties into the cruise control. There is a module with a button on it and it has to be pushed in at least halfway for CC to work. The CC module is threaded so you can twist it to mate up correctly with an adjusted clutch pedal. If you have an adjustable master and are trying to adjust it and pull the pedal closer to the floor you might run into this problem. I thought that i broke something under the dash. So if your cruise control stops working after you put in a new clutch or mess with the drivetrain...that is probably what it is.

My stage 1 melted in 1 week, now the car will stay running at 1000 RPM's with it in gear and the brake on and the clutch out...

Once they start slipping they are pretty much done for...

Spec sucks man but good luck to ya

They've been really considerate in helping me narrow down the problem.

I'm impressed by their support so far....we'll see what happens here.

What clutch are you guys using in place of the SPEC?

I went with an LS7 clutch after having a SPEC III. My SPEC III never failed me but was a little much for my daily driver.
