Default Autozone or Murray's clutch?

Well it's time to get a new clutch. I've heard good and bad things about Mcleod, Spec 3, and Centerforce. But has anyone ever heard much about the clutches from Autozone or Murray's? I would like to to get a reliable clutch that can one day handle upto 500 hp. But i dont want to spend a ton of money. There are some at Autozone or Murray's that are reasonable, but I haven't heard much about them from anyone else. Any help?

Don't skimp on a part that can explode & leave you without feet. If you need one to handle that much power I would spend the money for a good clutch.

I'm using the LS7 but I'm not at 500 RWHP. This is just one of those parts that is expensive.

autozone will slip on a stock car dont waste your time and money.
as said this IS a part that you need to get something that will hold and be decent. espically if your gonna be nearing 500rwhp
one thing with specs is that you dont hear much from the happy or good stories and just the bad ones that most of the time are instalion issues. ive installed numerous specs and the worst one still went 15k before it started to slip and it wasnt a low hp car so kinda expected it. if you wanna stay on the inexpesive side go ls7 setup atleast . put a few of the ls7's in so far and they are kinda soft for my liking but they do hold

For that hp look at a spec 2, I had one for 40,000 miles no problems. They are relatively cheap.

Are you kidding?
Get the LS7 if you want inexpensive.
You always hear about all these clutch problem on here & alot of them are from being done cheap the first time. Do it right & get it over with. Replace the clutch, the slave, pilot, & the master. + do the drill mod to the line.

Then your set.Your gonna spend some $$ to get 500HP spend it to hold it too.

Yeah if you want a good clutch for decent money go with the LS7. I dont know how well it would hold at 500 rwhp but it work well up to around 450 probably. All I can say is spend the exta money and dont cheap out on a part like that. Good luck...
