Default Best clutch for 750+ RWHP

I've posted this question before. I've smoked my spec 5, not really pleased with it at all, any suggestions??

Mcleod dual disk
SPEC dual disk
Tilton

There are 3 to choose from. I personally like the SPEC dual which has held our 800hp/800tq car all year without a hint of slip.

You wont be able to daily drive a centered metalic Tilton... No way but they do make a Carbon/Carbon set up for LS1's even but there about 4500 to 5 grand...

A few other companies have recently experimented with carbon/carbon multidisk clutches, but tilton probably has the most experience--along with the highest price. How much are you willing to spend for a streetable clutch that will hold 1000+hp? Once you go 600-700+HP, you start running into ludicrous amounts of money to maintain any semblance of streetability. This is why I've capped my project off at the 500-600rwhp range.

I'm seeing this, and I am willing to pay for something that I will use... my car is a daily driver with occasional track use. I believe that the $4500 clutch set up is a little ridiculous.... I'd love it, but I'm hoping that there is a reasonable alternative that I can live with

Thats what you say now until you blow through 4-5 clutches quickly

We run the $1800 SPEC in our 800hp car.Drives better than a stage 5 with no noise.Peddle pressure is stock feel.

Our blown 427ci Vette runs there $2400 clutch.Drives very good,he drives it every single day.Probly 800 miles a week.

I make 450 to the wheels right now and have a Ram twin disk clutch. It drives smoother than stock and is holding up to the task at the track as well. Ram claims it will hold up to 900 hp.

Im sure you could do a spec 5 for about 450 or 500 and that would hold that power

I have the Textralia exo-skel as well. I have come down with motor issues now and haven't had the chance to try it out. I got mine from sponsor byunspeed for $1249. It looks really nice. There is a handful of people in the country that has one but no one on here that I know of that has really had the oportunity to test it out yet. It has just been available for the past few months. I have also heard good things about the Spec dual disc from another source that has one as well.

well right now I can still drive the car, I cannot hit it at all... so no racing for me... I'm gonna wait a bit and see how well the above recommended clutches do .. I hope you guys post up and I'll make my decision from there. Thank you all for your input. Mark

Exedy dual or triple disc clutches will hold that kind of power and last.
