Default clutch gone?

for the last few weeks when i try to shift at high rpms(over 5000) i can't seem to get into gear and have to wait for the rpms to drop to get it in. Also, the clutch will sometimes stick half way down(not to the floor) and i will have to pull it up with my foot. since this started there is a noise coming from the transmission area like a whooshing noise, and it stops when i push in the clutch. Does this sound like the slave cylinder is going, the clutch is going, or both???
car is completely stock 99 ss.
Thanks

Man there are like 5 threads going on with this same issue. Check some of them out. It might help you resolve the issue. I have seen replace hydraulics and drill mod so far in the other ones.
