Default Bad rear main seal. Did it ruin my new Textralia clutch?

So I put my new textralia clutch in 2 weeks ago. Fast forward to yesterday when I went to get my oil changed, they said I had a bad oil leak and that it was likely my rear main seal. Pulled the transmission today and here's what I found.

Looks like a bad rear main seal to me, just thougth I'd get a second opinion. Now onto the clutch.....

Looks like oil seeped out of the holes and onto the clutch friction area .

^^^ One side of the clutch, and below is the opposite side of the same one.

So is my clutch shot?

Put in a new rear main seal and rear cover gasket, then degrease the flywheel, the pressure plate, and especially the clutch disc. Put it all back together and it should be all fine once the remaining oil burns off.

Is there anything behind the rear cover that I should be ready for, oil/coolant? Also do i need to drain the oil before I pull the rear main seal?

Nope, nothing interesting behind the cover, nothing will spill out.

Alright thanks, there seems to be grooves in my flywheel, but none in the pressure plate. Why does my flywheel have grooves in it? They're not that deep, but when you run your finger across it, you can feel them in there.

its from the heat and wear combined from the disc contacting the flywheel. youre gonna have to resurface it before you reinstall it.

Clean the flywheel with a good brake cleaner and take a pic. Those lines may look as bad as they do just because of the oil and crap inbetween the grooves. I think you're okay to put everything back in. The contact between the flywheel and the disc will help smooth things out.

Sponsors sell the slave cylinders. I don't think you are going to have an easy time finding just that piece.

Suprisingly, I posted in the western section and some guy has one lol. So I edited my post. Cleaning the flywheel didnt do much, but the grooves in the flywheel are very shallow, it just feels rough. Didnt get very good pictures, but they're the best I could do with no sunlight.

I think it may look worse than it is, the grooves are very shallow, almost just feels a little rough is all.

The rear main seal wasn't leaking two weeks ago?

That flywheel doesn't look too good. I wouldn't put it in like that.

Quick Reply: Bad rear main seal. Did it ruin my new Textralia clutch?
