Default squeaking noise

When the car is in neutral i have a squeaking noise which sounds like it's coming from the engine bay just can't pin point it. When i engage the clutch it instantly goes away. Anyone have any ideas what it might be it's annoying.

thanks

Throw-out bearing, I am about to replace my second one in 500 miles for the smae reason. When I pulled the last one out it was so bad all the ball bearings just fell on the floor and the normally one peice unit was like 3 pieces.

Just did a search and came across this thread to find out that it sounds like my throwout bearing is going out, because i am having the same problems.
Another question i got is would the throwout bearing have anything to do with a clutch slipping or is that another story.
Its a spec 3 so i would not be surprised if it is my clutch goin out at just 6k miles.

So the reason my clutch is slipping can be caused by the throw out bearing?

i upgraded everything billet flywheel, along with 01-02 master/slave. Whenever i put a lot of load on the clutch I.E. 6th gear cruise at 50mph and give it wot, it slips.
Kinda sounds like i need a new throwout bearing w/a newclutch assembly.

Ya sounds like the clutch and its always safe to replace the throw out & pilot bearings. Are you usually pretty hard on the car?
