Default Louis's short shifter problem

sorry, i am not sure where i should post this, but i got a Louis' short shifter, and am very disappointed with it. It's definately shorter, which is great....BUT......everytime I shift onto 2nd and 4th gear, the shifter bangs off of my center console. is this common?

Ive got the same damn problem. But it seems we are of the very few. No one else has the issues I have. I have asked repeatedly if maybe the people that DONT hit have the factory Hurst. I have the cheap OEM shifter and Id bet you do too. I wonder if switching to the factory Hurst would remedey the problem?

I had the same problem, I just re-adjusted the stops on my pro5.0 and now its prefect no more banging..

Get a pro5.0, dont waste your time on a factory hurst, if your gonna spend money, might as well go all out for not much more.

I've always read that if you don't have a factory Hurst, it will hit. I'd probably get a Pro 5.0 and use the LSS on that. Take a look at the UMI short stick --> http://umiperformance.com/2105.aspx

It says that it "(Will not fit 93-02 Models with stock NON-Hurst Shifter base)". So I'm guessing that will be the case with just about any short stick.

pretty sure UMI's says that because the bolt pattern is for the hurst and pro5.0, not the factory base.

Take the shifter handle and turn it the other way. It should have a slight bend on the handle, you want it facing the opposite way it is facing now!

BTW I had this same problem!
