With your power level & that clutch, I wouldn't track it too much.

I know they work great for minor bolt-on cars & stock applications, but with a H/C combo I'm not sure it would hold up that great.

Working fine for me but i'm almost stock. Dump at 4000 RPM without slippage.

LS7 clutch glazes very easy, I would not go with one.

EXEDY or Textralia OZ700 Series are highly recommended.

its not a point of what is recommended, I have it in the car and dont have the money to **** away on a clutch right now (POS spec went out on me so I have to do something fast and cheap at the time). I am not a hard core racer, I just want to take a few track trips. I just want to see what those who run this clutch recommend doing to make sure I can drive it home lol

Have the same combo. Clutch always grips fine and havn't had a slip yet. Never done a 4K dump, but it has always grabbed very nicely even at redline.

Honestly, if it works in an LS7 powered car, I don't understand why a (even a modded) LS1 would cause any major problems.

I just went to the track on thursday and I upset my LS7 clutch. This was a concern for me as well because there weren't many track results for it, especially in F-bodys. To start my car is full weight less the spare tire and jack but I'm sure the 12 bolt and other suspension components make up for that. I was running 26.0x11.5x16 ET Streets on stock TA 16" wheels. I was launching around 5k, not side stepping, just letting off quick. By the end of my runs my pedal was soft and when I tried to hot lap it felt like the clutch wasn't fully disengaging because I had trouble getting into gear. I had to let the car cool for an hour or so between runs and could smell the clutch during that cooling period.

What tires are you running?

What are you planning to launch at?

You running full weight?

Mine works great on the street but at that track on tires and launching at 4 or 5k is a different ball game.

F-body's are a good deal heavier than LS7 cars so that also plays a role.

I am full weight minus the emissions stuff and the AC. I have the MT DR's on the car. I dont want to launch the car for redline, just make some track runs with some reasonable 1.8 60' times. I wouldnt hotlap with that clutch if I did go to the track because the pedal feel does chagne once the cltuch gets some heat in it. Thanks for the comments

But it's not working (at the track) in the LS7 powered cars...
