OK. My car just started doing this tonight. Upshifting from 4th to 5th is perfectly fine, but I can't downshift from 6th to 5th. With the car off, it will go from 6th to 5th though.

Any ideas?

REv it a touch as if you were 'matching revs' before y ou downshift.

check your clutch fluid resevior, if its old and black, change it out

If you're getting gear clash from 6th to 5th and it's only in those gears it's probably the synchro. Time to tear it apart and inspect. Try upshifts and downshifts from each gear. If you're getting it in more than one gear it could be hydraulic or clutch related.

It's only from 6th to 5th. Although, it's not shifting 2nd to 3rd like it used to either.
