Default how good is the t56?

I am trying to find out how much high rpm shifts the car can take on the stock T56 and how much power it can handle before it breaks? thanks for any responses.

Ive heard of people with 850+ horse running stock t56's and still abusing them. It has a lot to do with having a good clutch that saves your tranny from grinding gears and what not.

Mine has never been cracked open and it has taken 5500 RPM dumps over and over again.

One of the most important things to making these things last is getting the torque arm relocated off of the tailshaft housing.

Other than the possibility of breaking the tailshaft, does the stock setup put anything else in danger or increased wear?

the t56 is quite good in my own opinion

on of the s-sereis guys did this to his stock nv3500

he is now running an aftermarket t56 and running 11's in the 1/4 with no problems

seeing his trans failure was enough to make me switch to a t56, i dont need to loose a leg cuz i scattered a tranny

I'm pretty sure he's talking about the rest of the parts.
