drivers side under the hood you have your brake fluid that holds brake fluid and closer to the fender well there is a small plastic clutch fluid. mine has a black cap see if it has any fluid in it or if it looks black.

Yeah, sounds like a fluid issue.

theres a big one with black fluid and a little one with nothing in it, but it looks like there was black fluid before. also when i use to take off there was a rattling noise everytime. and now that i turn the car on stinks like smoke but u can't see black smoke coming out of the exhaust

that is the first part of your problem. The small one is your clutch fluid and should not be empty. I think i would start there. Fill it with fluid (dot 3 brake fluid) and bleed the clutch. There is a thread here titled "powerbled my clutch today great results" I think thats the title, anyway try that first and if that doesnt work we will move to the next thing

Oh yeah i highly recomend the motive power bleeder it will make life alot easier and when your done you can bleed your brakes and get rid of that black fluid in there too.

Got an LS7 clutch and LS2 Fidanza aluminum flywheel from Speed Inc. for a good price. Clutch grips very well and is smooth as can be

you dont have to but its awesome and you just open the bleeder valve and let it flow. it will also get all the old fluid out.

Before you buy the power bleeder, you might just want to try and bleed the clutch manually; like you would your brakes. There is a bleeder valve about 2-3 inches above where the hydraulic line goes into the trans.

I bled mine this way this evening after I put a new clutch in the car, and it work fine. Took about 10 minutes, with a buddy.

hey its free why not! personally i tried it and it takes foreverrrrrrr!!!!!!! and can be frustrating. the power bleeder will flush all the old fluid which you probably need to do anyway. its just easier and i had much better results

I just bought a new master cylinder and slave cylinder with the clutch but only replaced the slave cylinder. Since the master cylinder came pre-filled with fluid I plugged it up to the slave cylinder before installing it, opened up the bleeder valve and just gravity fed fluid into it. Then just installed the new slave and kept the new master on hand to replace later-it looks pretty easy to install, unlike the slave cylinder which of course requires removal of the clutch. sanity check on this anyone? *edit* but thats just if your changing out the clutch, not bleeding it on the car like your trying to do
