Default Clutch pedel went funny, but is fine now. Why???

I'm driving to school normally and I shifted in to 5th at 40ish and all of a sudden, my pedel is crap. It had at least half of the full pedal travel was nothing. I had to push it to the floor to shift and had little clutch to play with. I would pump it and it didn't help much. I figured out, the faster I accelerate, the better the clutch pedel was. Its definately the hydralics, my clutch doesn't slip.

Well, I just drove it the rest of the way and it got better. Now, its completely normal again! WTF happened???

you may want to change out your fluid, you may have something that was caught in the line and causing a minor block. I had the same thing and changed out my fluid and all is better now. Also check your fluid levels because if they are low that can have a soft pedal feel as well. If your clutch fluid is dark change it out.

I'll get around to doing something about it. The fluid is not really dirty, but deffinately no where near new. I'll add some more first. I'm afraid to bleed it for fear that I won't do it right and it becomes worse. Hell, i don't even know how to bleed it. I can do brakes, but i've never done a clutch. I better start reading! :d

Alright, I bled the system and it has all new fluid. It was a PITA. The pedel feels the way it normally does. Although...is their suppose to be an inch of play in the pedel? Their's always been about an inch of play, but the rest feels fine.

BTW, I bled the crappy out of it and followed directions, but every time I cracked the valve and closed it real quick....I could hear air!!! I just gave up...well my pedel pusher did.

mines doing the same thing. Pedal went funny the same night i broke my rear end gears. It has trouble getting into 1st and 2nd unless you pump the clutch alot. My fluid looks horrible so i'm gonna try to change it and bleed it. If that doesnt help i think i'll need a clutch master cylinder
