3-4 synchro guide plates, prone to break. Upgrade is 99 dollars from D&D. Labor intensive though. My tranny is doing the same thing right now, so I am driving 1-2 5-6 only. If you keep driving it, and this problem is what yours is....... you are driving on borrowed time. Try to get it fixed ASAP....... 400 now or 2000 later.

Do the rebuild your self it doesn't take that long I have never done anything even remotely close to it in my life! 4 days of working on it after my normal job! its $0.82 part for an oem one! but $99 for unbreakable ones! I have to say it wasn't that bad of a job that same thing happend to me and those little keys/dogs where floating around in my case for a couple days... THANK GOODNESS I took care of it before they got caught in a gear thats 200 dollars or worse! If you have any questions please ask!

I'd love to rebuild it myself, but before I took it out and took it apart I would have to be 100 percent sure I could do it. I've done all the mods on my car but I've never seen the inside of the tranny before...

neither had I but I wasn't going to spend 1500 dollars for someone else to do it when all I had to replace was $.82 keys/dogs. Although I bought the nicer ones so they wouldn't break again! I just went at it everyday after I got off work with a couple good writeups, t56 service manual(found online), the right tools, and 5-6 hours a day it only took 4 nights 20-30 hours. Thats including (remember never have done any of this including pulling the trans!) Pulling it out, tearing it down, building it back up, tearing it down again because I didn't seat the counter shaft right... just take your time and that wont be a problem, built it back up, replaced the clutch turned the flywheel, and shoved it back in the car! Oh and it was 29 degrees for the 2 days that it took me to pull it. lol if you have any questions you can pm me or even call me in the middle of the night because I know thats what I wanted at 445 in the morning when I had no Idea why the gears where binding! so let me know how it goes!
