Default Hard Shifting

When I go and start my car on cold mornings or after it's sat for 5 or more hours when start to drive it after letting it sit for a few min it, it does not want to go into any gear. After 10 or so miles it goes into gear fine and I have no more trouble with it. Is this normal for f-bodies, or is something abnormal.

Also whats the best fluid to run in an m6 tranny. I've been thinking about putting some royal purple in, would that help with the hard shifting or only make matters worse.

I did search and didn't really find much on this topic.

Thanks in advance, Nick
