Default Grinding when shifting fast

Not synchros, every gear does it. Goes in to gear smoothly shifts ok when shifting slower. When shifted hard slight grind in every gear (w/exception of reverse). Stock new slave, master is stock modified for adjustment. Got the whole trans/clutch setup from smokinhawk who said it worked great going 135 mph (traps). Now the slave does have a shim under it, i am wondering if the shim could cause the pressure plate to be over extended? Put a lot of slack in the pedal to reduce travel/brings pedal engagemant closer to floor, just makes it where it does not go in to gear from idle (net enough deisngagement). Seems like the input shaft may be spinning still between shifts. Will do it at high rpm as well as 2k rpm on a fast shift. Has some stage 3 clutch (don't remember brand).

Ideas on what to check next?

Thanks

sounds like you still have air in the slave bleed the system some more then check the disengagement of the disk

maybe your letting the clutch out faster than your putting it in gear

yea +1

instead of the drill mod, do the driver mod first.

actually i can shift fast and not release the clutch and still grinds every gear. No air in the system for sure and drill mod is already done. Not a pedal problem, seems like the input shaft on trans is still turning enough to cause the grind.

I have this same problem......it doesn't grind hardly ever under normal driving conditions, however when WOT, it will grind every gear after 2nd gear for me. I'm thinking it's synchro's myself

i have the same problem it seems only cars with over 400 hp do that. i had the stock trans rebuilt while the car was still under warrenty 3 times for that problem! im just investing in a race 6spd trans unless someone has an other solution , is it more cost effective to rebuild or get new?

I have the same problem. I was over a second between gears 2-3, 3-4 at the track last night (and even 4-5 on the interstate). It just doesn't want to go. But if I just muscle it it'll go, while feeling a slight "crunch". Doesn't pop out of gear. Comes out of gear fine. Just has a tough time going into gear.

Oh that helps a lot. Thanks. I knew there was something wrong.
Anybody got any helpful input?
Is synchros the basic consensus here?

What fluid are you using?

I got major grindage when I switched to Synthetic

Went back to Dex3 and the shifts were trouble free

I'm also using a shim with my Spec 3 X-Pad (updated master/slave) and I don't really see how it could overextend the pressure plate

Only problem I see it causing would be premature TB failure due to resting on the PP fingers constantly.....
