Default Donato Engineering (T-56)

I personally know the owner of this company and he does extremely fine work. his main service is the Viper output shaft conversion, he also offers a cryo internal service as well as some different gear ratio options. Fork pads can be upgraded to a much harder material. Many other options avaliable

I strongly recommend John and hope you guys appreciate the review

I will be having my (T-56) gone threw by him (I will be doing the work) he will be over my shoulder.

Sweet...let us know how it comes out. I wish I had the time to go through my own right now...if I could learn how to do that and set up gears in my rear, I'd be set.

Yeah as long as you have time, patients and a few tools anyone can try it out. Not to hard just have to have patients.

Thanks,

since I am just DD the car we are going to do the steel shift forks, examine the syncros and all pieces and upgrade the pad of the forks. and just make sure everything is in good working order. also upgrade the fluid to the new viper fluid to get ride of the gear set noise that sounds like a bad throwout bearing! John said the new fluid shuts it up.

Since you did say dailey driver, I would steer from the Viper fluid. If its the Castrol Syntorq LT that I know of, It will be too thick for winter driving( generally not a Viper owners concern). You will have much harder morning shifts that you experienced with the correct ATF fill.Save the $$ and get a plain ol Dex III ATF, like your manual states.

I agree with calhoon. We do use the Castrol Syntorq in our drag car but we don't have synchros so hard shifts in the am are not our concern.

Yeah, a Tremec engineer told me the only reason they spec it for Vipers is because of the lack of airflow/venting and subsequent extreme heat produced by their T56s. That, and the whole no winter driving thing for the Vipers.

I am not looking forward to how expensive it is. I was also thinking about the LUCAS stuff for gearboxes...

They certainly treated me well...their transmission is about the only thing I'm happy with in my car right now. The rear end is on its way out, and my LS1 is...well...stock.

But it sure looks good, don't it?

I feel you... I've got a blown T56, and a BEAT rearend. Bolt ons are great, but don't compare to what I'd like to have done to the car.

All in due time.

The Torco ATF is a full synthetic according to the product data sheet on their website.
