Default t-56 rebuild help

Hi every body well Itook my trany apart and it's time to put it back together.But Ihave this problem that Icant put the two bolts [torx bolts] that go on the casing. Is there a certain way. Thank You.

Yes the certainly is. These bolts locate and guide the entire shift linkage. First , be sure the trans is in neutral( you may have shifted a sync. putting the case on). Do not force the bolts as that will only destroy the threads.Do yourself a favor and download the service manual from Tremec, its free.
