Parts store slave Ok here is my ordeal...
I called O'Reillys and Advanced looking for a slave for a 2001+ LS1. Neither of these stores had them. I had been advised by several members of these forums that I could get a slave from O'Reillys for $80 and Advanced for $65.
BOTH places informed me that they don't even have a listing for a slave for my application and cannot even order one.
So, I ended up calling Napa and they told me that they did not have one for a 2001+ Fbody but they DID have two for a 98-2000.
Now, I understand that GM revised the slaves design for the 2001+ model years. My question is - since the design for the earlier slaves have been discontinued is the slave that Napa has the correct one (2001 +)? Also, is there anyway I can visually extinquish an early slave from a revised one?
I have found a GM 01+ slave from summitracing for $110 + shipping. The Napa slave is $105 + tax. The reason I want the slave from Napa is that it comes with a LIFETIME warrenty and people have having good success with them.
